Nestled in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, Casa Franca stands at the crossroads of art and architecture, as an immersive and habitable work of art.

“An artist’s house, residence, studio, office; it’s a place that I wanted to be limitless, and timeless, where children and adults alike could embark on an immersive journey into a world waiting to be explored.”

A story of meetings and friendships
A hybrid dwelling, Casa Franca is a place for artistic experimentation, encounters, exhibitions, and a residence that rises to the current environmental challenges.
Designed as a manifesto of art and nature, Sarah Valente partnered with architects Emanuelle and Philibert Déchelette to bring the six-story residence to life with raw, bio-sourced materials at the center of a constructive and creative process.
“Two antinomic materials were brought together: Earth, that is thick, granular, layered, porous and ancestral; and metal, that is smooth, slender, luminous, and a product of industrialization.”
The first adobe house in Paris
A first of its kind in Paris, the facade is created entirely by 50 centimeters of earth. An earthen element in striking contrast with its urban surroundings, the traditional, low-tech technique minimizes the use of materials with virtually no carbon footprint
An ecosystem of artists and designers
An ever-evolving, space to reflect, create, and collaborate, Casa Franca serves as a living canvas for artists and a hub for the Greenline Foundation.
‘Cultivating the power of art to promote and preserve the value of forests’ - the foundation champions rediscovery of the beauty and critical role of nature through preservation, awareness, and mobilization in protecting forests.
