What locations did you visit?

LA and Miami.

Where did you stay?

The Hoxton, Downtown LA. Palihotel Hollywood – a quirky, artsy hotel that’s a blend of old-world charm and modern luxury. Four Seasons Hotel Miami – luxury with a view, overlooking Biscayne Bay. Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, Surfside, Florida – a serene retreat just north of Miami Beach.

Three words to describe your journey?

Exhilarating, inspirational and rejuvenating.

Discoveries or hidden gems along the way?

Malibu: Hidden among the well-known attractions, the Getty Villa is an understated gem. It's like stepping into another world with its ancient art collections and gorgeous gardens. Miami: A stroll through South Beach's Art Deco district will make you feel like you're walking through a movie set.

If the location were a color? A sound? A taste?

Aquamarine – reminiscent of the sparkling ocean. Ocean waves meeting the shore. Ice cream on a warm day.

What left a lasting impression?

The sunset drive along Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu was nothing short of magical. The colours of the sky reflected off the ocean, creating a scene so serene it felt almost dreamlike. Miami Beach’s vibrant energy, there’s something about the lively atmosphere that reinvigorates you.

A local must-see or must-do?

In Malibu, don’t miss the Getty Villa – the art collections and gardens will transport you to a different time. In Miami, head to Vizcaya Museum & Gardens, where history and natural beauty collide. Miami's beaches are a must.

The best thing you ate and where to find it?

In LA, In-N-Out Burger but don’t forget the tacos at Villa’s Tacos. Forte Dei Marmi in Miami for Italian favourites (don’t miss their pistachio ice cream)

A local market that overtook your suitcase?

Venice Beach’s boardwalk is a market in itself, it’s a creative wonderland where you’ll always find something quirky to bring home. Also Rose Bowl Flea Market in LA.

Go-to spots to take in arts and culture?

In LA, LACMA is a must for its diverse collection, but don’t miss the Broad Museum for contemporary art and the famous Infinity Mirror Room by Yayoi Kusama. In Miami, check out the Wynwood Walls – a giant open-air street art museum with murals that change every season, and The Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), which mixes contemporary art with stunning views of Biscayne Bay.

Wellness experiences or places to slow down?

Four Seasons At The Surf Club in Miami offers an amazing spa experience. In LA, Den Mother in Venice, a neighbourhood wellness retreat.

Your favorite scenic route or way to get around?

The Pacific Coast Highway drive from LA to Malibu offers some of the most stunning coastal views you can imagine. I recommend taking a detour through Point Dume State Beach for some quieter, hidden gems along the way. Miami: ocean drive for the Art Deco Historic District.

What item(s) do you always pack?

I never forget to bring my cameras and plenty of Kodak film.

Do you have any exploration rituals?

My ritual consists of grabbing a coffee, loading my camera with film, and listening to my favourite playlist while I wander.

Best way to discover somewhere new?

The best way to explore a city is to take your time and let curiosity guide you. Wander the streets, stop at cafes, and ask locals about their favourite hidden spots. It’s often in those unexpected places that you find the most memorable experiences.

Travel tips or secrets to share?

Packing cubes are my secret weapon for staying organised. I swear by Paravel packing cubes for keeping everything in place. When traveling, always have a reusable water bottle, it’s an easy way to stay hydrated and reduce plastic waste.

Where to next?

Next, I’m looking forward to exploring Sri Lanka, Mallorca in the summer, London, Puglia, and Sicily. I’m always dreaming of my next adventure.
