Travel isn't always a choice
We recognize this is not an easy time. At Paravel, we are following our state government’s recommendation and staying home, but we know that some of you may need to travel to get home to loved ones or help out those in need. Thankfully, there are ways to protect yourself and others so we can all stay healthy. Here are 3 things to know and 3 things to do if you absolutely must travel. In the meantime, wishing everyone health and safety during these uncertain times.
1. The TSA is helping out
You can now bring bottles of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz through security. Bottles larger than 3.4 oz will be scanned separately though, adding some travel time.
2. Providers are stepping up
Several rental car companies have lowered their minimum rental age for college students who need to leave campus, and multiple major airlines as well as Amtrak have released heightened sanitation protocols.
3. Planes keep it clean
Most airlines use HEPA air filters, the same kind used in hospitals. Though you’ll still want to frequently sanitize anything you touch, especially luggage handles, zippers, and your phone!
4. Meditate
When practiced regularly, meditation boosts the immune system, but in the short term, it’s amazing to ease anxiety. Try Headspace and their free “Weathering the Storm” pack.
5 . Chip in for the vulnerable
Head over to the WHO COVID19 Solidarity Fund and give what you can to send supplies to health workers and better enable nations to track and prevent the spread of disease.
6. Thank the helpers
Don’t forget to thank the many airline/airport/station employees helping everyone along the way.
